A Window of Opportunity to Stop Further Concentration in the Beef Cattle Industry

There is a window of opportunity to move against the "evil" that can be described as concentration in the beef cattle industry with the arrival of the Obama Administration- and Bill Bullard with R-Calf USA is delighted that the chance has come to have someone in the Department of Justice and/or the Department of Agriculture take his group seriously as they call for a ban on packer ownership and other measures that they believe will help the independent cattle producer thrive in the marketplace.
Bullard, on today's Beef Buzz, claims that this can be accomplished and still have niche marketing opportunities for any cattle producer that care to work within them- but for those that simply want to sell cattle and not be a beef producer, Bullard says those cattlemen should make a profit as well.
