Consider the Glass "Half Full" as Opportunities Are There to Sell More US Beef Around the Pacific Rim

The Pacific Rim was the top destination for US beef prior to December 2003. Then, the Cow that Stole Christmas appeared and the US has struggled since that time to reestablish markets in several of these key countries. Joel Haggard, senior vice president, Asia-Pacific region for the U.S. Meat Export Federation, says there has been a lot of talk about consumer sensitivity and resistance in the Korean, Taiwan and Japanese markets for U.S. beef. However, he remains positive about the opportunities that exist for 2010.
