Cattle Producers Have Found Unique Ways to Promote Beef During This Challenging Time

Cattle producers have found unique ways to promote beef during this challenging year and Greg Hanes, CEO of the Cattlemen's Beef Promotion and Research Board, explains some of those methods on today's Beef Buzz.
At the top of the list right now is advertising on the Hallmark TV channel showing Christmas movies 24/7.
Beef producers are capitalizing on the Beef. It's What's For Dinner. Drool Log video of a prime rib roasting over an open flame.
Everybody is looking for something fun, he said. For the first time in years we are having beef advertising on TV.
The message and imaging are perfect, he said.
This is a way to reach out to consumers to get them hungry for beef, Hanes said.
This effort comes on the heels of another successful digital advertising campaign, United We Steak.
Yeah that has been huge, Hanes said.
The timing when it came out in the summer was perfect, he said.
It was good because it tied in with each state and unique perspectives on individual producers and beef cuts, he said.
This is just another positive way to reach out to consumers, he said.
Globally, Hanes said recovery is continuing in the international markets.
The demand has remained incredibly strong, he said.
Exports were up before COVID-19 and then we had a supply problem, not a demand problem, Hanes said.
By the end of the year and into 2021 we will see excellent results in moving beef exports, Hanes said.
I think we are well positioned going into the new year with strong trade agreements with Japan, the new NAFTA and EU, he said.
There are a lot of facts and data out there that support beef's role in a healthy diet and I think it will be difficult to change that, he said.
