Beef Board Develops Easier Website to Tell Beef Checkoff Story

Beef is beginning to flow from this country to South Korea after months and months of frustration in dealing with South Korea. That's the word from Dr. Chuck Lambert of USDA who says that the final protocol has been signed with the Koreans- and that some certificates have been signed signaling some orders are now being filled for US beef to that Asian nation.
It's less optimistic for Japan and China. Dr. Lambert tells us that Japan continues to demand that we accept a deal for thirty months of age beef or younger only- while the US demands that the OIE blueprint of any aged beef is safe if the SRMs are removed be recognized by the Japanese.
In China- their leaders are upset that no cooked chicken from China is being allowed into our country- so they are not interested in talking about allowing US beef into the most populous nation on the earth.
We have Q&A that fellow farm broadcaster Mike LePorte and I conducted with Dr. Lambert here at the Summer Cattle Industry Conference in Denver Thursday morning. That interview is below.
