The Oklahoma Cattlemen's Association has scheduled the annual policy meeting for Thursday, January 25, 2017. The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. at the Reed Conference Center located in Midwest City, Oklahoma. The OCA quarterly board of director's meeting will also take place in conjunction with the policy development meeting.
"When it comes to OCA Policy Development, every member has a voice," said Weston Givens, OCA President and rancher from Arnett, Oklahoma. "The winter policy meeting provides OCA members an opportunity to consider and create policy that drives our organization."
The timing of the Winter Policy Meeting in late January allows for OCA members to discuss bills of the upcoming Legislative Session which begins in February as well as proposed policies for the National Cattlemen's Beef Association (NCBA) Annual Convention the following week.
"Member engagement is vital to the success of policy development which will chart the course for our organization in the coming year," Givens said.
The schedule for the day will include adequate time for committee meetings so that OCA members can propose, debate and adopt policy. The day will conclude with the Winter Quarterly Board of Director's meeting.
"I encourage all OCA members to attend and participate by exercising their membership voting power, participating in discussions and bringing policy ideas," said Givens.
The OCA is the trusted voice of the Oklahoma Cattle Industry. OCA is the only voice that speaks solely for the cattlemen of Oklahoma and represents beef producers in all 77 counties across the state. The OCA officers, board of directors and membership encourages you to join us in our advocacy efforts to ensure less government intervention, lower taxes and a better bottom line.
