Feeder Cattle Narrative Report for 07/28/2014

Actual Receipts: 4782     Last Monday: 4892     Year Ago Monday: 4606

Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers are selling 4.00 to 8.00 higher. Steer and heifer calves mostly 5.00 to 10.00 higher compared to last week's light test. Demand is very good for all classes of feeder cattle. Quality typical of the summer, plain to average. Weigh-ups are in the buyers favor with a large majority of thin fleshed cattle on offer. Cooler weather and rain showers are forecasted to move into the state tomorrow, which will bring temperatures into the 70's and 80's throughout the weekend. Supply included 62 percent over 600 lbs; 42 percent heifers.
