Odile Heads for Oklahoma- The Latest Graphics
Thu, 18 Sep 2014 08:28:28 CDT
Rainfall totals- especally on Saturday the 20th- may be substantial across the state of Oklahoma. The graphic above from Travis Meyer from the News on 6 shows the western half of the state may get the most rain from the leftovers of Pacific Hurricane Odile.
And- according to Gary McManus, Oklahoma State Climatologist, "The heaviest rain totals being from the latest forecast have now shifted more to the southwestern parts of the state. I actually consider that a good thing. Not that other parts of the state are without need of substantial moisture, but nobody needs it more than southwestern Oklahoma where the lakes are seriously diminished."
The graphic below from the National Weather Service shows huge amounts of rain not that far from Oklahoma down in the south plainsdown around Midland and Odessa. And, it shows possibly two to three inches of rainfall into western portions of our state.
