Feeder Cattle Narrative Report for 10/22/2014

Receipts: 5732    Last Week: 6035    Year Ago: 6262

Compared to last week: Feeder steers sold 5.00 to 10.00 higher. Feeder heifers were lightly tested not enough comparable sales for an accurate market trend. Steer calves sold 5.00 to 8.00 higher; calves under 400 lbs traded sharply higher. Heifer calves sold steady to 4.00 higher. Demand good to very good for all classes, especially for long weaned calves headed for wheat pasture. Widespread rains moved across the state this afternoon bring rain over most of Oklahoma. Supply included 70 percent over 600 lbs; 38 percent heifers.
