Feeder Cattle Narrative Report for 10/29/2014

Receipts: 3951    Last Week: 5732    Year Ago: 3753

Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers traded mostly steady in a light test. Steer calves sold 2.00 to 4.00 higher. Heifer calves under 550 lbs sold sharply higher; over 550 lbs 2.00-6.00 higher. Demand moderate to good for all classes, especially for long weaned calves headed for wheat pasture. Fall has finally arrived in Oklahoma with the extended weather forecast calling for cold mornings and mild afternoons. Supply included 67 percent over 600 lbs; 42 percent heifers.
