Congressman Frank Lucas Cheers GOP Control of the Senate as He Easily Wins in the House
Wed, 05 Nov 2014 03:41:02 CST
Tuesday evening proved to be a really good night for the Grand Old Party- and one of those celebrating in Oklahoma was the Chairman of the House Ag Committee, Frank Lucas. After spending the great majority of his time over the past two years in bringing home a 2014 Farm Bill, his constituents in the third Congressional District rewarded him with biggest reelection margin given any of the Republicans in the Oklahoma Congressional delegation.
Lucas defeated Frankie Robbins by almost one hundred thousand votes- with 79% of the votes cast for Incumbent Lucas in his race.
Farm Director Ron Hays caught up with the Chairman of the House Ag Committee as he arrived at the State Republican Watch Party in Oklahoma City- and they talked several issues, including the vote of confidence that the citizens of the Third District gave him, the prospect of the GOP winning the Senate and what that might mean in pursuing several key issues in Congress for rural interests- what he still hopes to wrap up within the House Ag Committee and finally his interest in becoming the next Chairman of the Financial Services Committee.
It was obvious that Lucas is very interested- pointing out that he has served on the Financial Services Committee almost as long as he has on the Ag Committee- saying that "most folks perceive me as the Ag Bill guy- but I am also the Financial Services guy too."
