Superior Livestock Market Report

Fort Worth, TX: Over 16,500 head of yearlings, stockers and bred stock were offered at Superior's regularly scheduled video and internet auction conducted on December 19 from Superior's office and studio in Fort Worth, TX.

The offering consisted of 40% yearling steers and heifers , 50% stocker steers and heifers and 10% bred stock. Trade was active and demand was good for all classes.

Weaned calves suitable for grazing were fully steady while those over 625 lbs. were $10 to $15 lower. Yearling steers of superior quality and on a program were $2-$7 lower, while good to average quality steers were $8-$10 lowers. Yearling heifers of superior quality and on a program were $8-$10 lower with the good to average quality kind $10-$15 lower. Light weight Holsteins were fully steady while the heavier weights were $10-$12 lower.
