Feeder Cattle Narrative Report for 07/27/2015

Actual Receipts: 3,798   Last Monday: 4,501   Year Ago Monday: 4,782

Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers traded mostly 5.00 to 10.00 lower. Not enough steer and heifer calves for a market trend, but a lower undertone was noted. Temperatures remain in the upper 90's with high humidity causing heat index levels of up to 115 degrees. Buyer demand was light to moderate following the CME Feeder and Live cattle contracts closing down for four consecutive days last week. Quality was mostly plain to average. Supply included 69 percent over 600 lbs and 43 percent heifers.
