Tue, 24 Nov 2015 12:20:19 CST
Tulsa is set to once-again to host Oklahoma's largest indoor farm show December 10, 11, & 12. The 22nd annual event will bring area farmers and ranchers to the River Spirit Expo to view the latest in agricultural & ranching technology. More than 370 exhibitors will feature over 1,000 agricultural products and services, making the Tulsa Farm Show one of the country's premier agricultural events and the largest show of its kind under one roof.
Serving the Five-State Area
Long since known for its wheat and cattle production, Oklahoma has over 35 million acres of farmland managed by more than 86 thousand farms. Tulsa's location in the eastern part of the
state allows it to effectively play host to farmers and ranchers beyond Oklahoma's borders. Over 30,000 agricultural producers and ranchers from Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas and Texas regularly make the Tulsa Farm Show part of their end-of-year activities.
World-Class Facility
Tulsa's marquee expo center, the River Spirit Expo, provides one of the largest and most versatile exhibit halls in the country, with over 400,000 square feet of exhibit space. Billed as one of the largest clear-span buildings in the world, it is well-suited for big equipment and large exhibits and provides easy access for exhibitors. Attendees enjoy free on-site parking in addition to free admission to the show. The River Spirit Expo is part of Tulsa's Expo Square, one of the premier event complexes in the country and annual host of the Tulsa State Fair.
Great Events at the Show
In addition to exhibits, many events, including demonstrations, competitions, test drives, performances, and prize drawings are popular attractions at the show. Craig Cameron, renowned natural horse trainer, and host of RFD-TV's Ride Smart television series will provide daily horsemanship seminars and interact with attendees throughout the show at the Sutherlands exhibit. Craig's entertaining and interactive demonstrations have been a Tulsa Farm Show favorite for the past 20 years.
Returning for the second year, Melissa Navarre & Company will be entertaining attendees with her exciting trick riding demonstrations at the demonstration area at the east end of the River
Spirit Expo. Melissa is a 4th generation member of the famed Beutler Rodeo Family from Elk City, OK. Melissa and her team will be performing two shows daily at Noon and 2PM (2:30
Saturday).
Show Manager, Ron Bormaster commented, "We have a record number of exhibitors this year with over 370 exhibitors and a full schedule of events and performances each day of the show.
This will be the largest Tulsa Farm Show in its 22 year history. It is truly a great salute to the area's agricultural and ranching community."
Livestock management is also a key focus of the show and cattle producers interested in the latest equipment can see the new products put to the test in side-by-side demonstrations. Eleven brands of cattle chutes will be demonstrated with live animals and moderated by experienced representatives.
High school students from across the state will compete in the finals of the Livestock Skills Scholarship Competition. Ten three-person teams will compete in practical, real-life cattle handling scenarios and the winning team members will win scholarship dollars and prizes. To date, Midwest Shows Scholarship Program, with key support from American Farmers & Ranchers, has awarded over $100,000 in agricultural scholarships to Oklahoma high school students. A fund raising auction will be hosted following the competition to raise funds for the program along with a raffle hosted by Sutherlands.
Prize drawings are also popular at the Tulsa Farm Show. Hustler Turf will also be offering test drives of its Zero Turn mowers and the chance to win a new Hustler Raptor mower to be given
away to one lucky test drive participant. New this year, Ford will be hosting an interactive exhibit, providing attendees a hands-on experience with the new line-up of Ford trucks.
The TULSA Farm Show runs December 10, 11, & 12, 2015 at the River Spirit Expo (located at the Tulsa State Fairgrounds). Admission and parking are free. For more information and to view an interactive floor plan of the show, go to www.TulsaFarmShow.com.
