Feeder Cattle Narrative Report for 02/08/2016

Actual Receipts: 6,186   Last Week: 9,128    Year Ago: 8,557

   Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers 2.00-5.00 lower. Demand for feeder cattle moderate to good despite the sharply lower cattle futures the past two days. Steer and heifer calves sold steady to 2.00 higher. Demand very good for stocker cattle as many are looking ahead to spring and green pastures. Quality average to attractive. Cattle in slightly thin to fleshy conditions. Weigh-ups mostly average. Supply included 73 percent over 600 lbs; 32 percent heifers.
