Feeder Cattle Narrative Report for 06/22/2016

Receipts: 8,378         Last Week: 9,554        Year Ago: 5,410

   Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers sold mostly 2.00-3.00 lower. Steer and heifer calves not well tested; however a much lower undertone was noted. Demand remains moderate to good despite the decline in cattle futures late last week and at the start of this week. Quality average to attractive. Hot and very humid weather has been present this week across the state. Supply included 8 percent over 600 lbs and 39 percent heifers.

   Feeder Steers Medium and Large 1: 475-500 lbs 152.00-161.00; few 550 lbs fleshy 148.00; 600-650 lbs 143.50-149; 700-800 lbs 139.00-146.75; 800-850 lbs 134.75-143.75, thin fleshed 144.50; 850-900 lbs 131.50-139.75; 900-950 lbs 126.00-132.00, thin fleshed 139.50-140.00; 950-975 lbs 125.50-129.23; 1000-10050 lbs 120.75-122.80; 1150 lbs 113.25.
   Medium and Large 1 and 2 Calves: 375 lbs 167.00; few 425 lbs 160.00; 500-600 lbs 144.50-149.00; few 750 lbs 127.00; Yearlings: 725-775 lbs 137.25-139.00; lot 800-850 lbs 132.50-134.75; 875-900 lbs 126.50-130.00; 925-950 lbs 123.50-129.00.
   Medium and Large 2: 500-600 lbs 140.00-143.00; 700-750 lbs 132.00-134.50; 850-875 lbs 123.50-130.00; 950 lbs 121.50.
   Large 2-3: 975 lbs dairy X 115.25.
   Feeder Holstein Steers Large 3: few 550 lbs 91.00; 750-775 lbs 88.50-91.25; 925-975 lbs 85.50-90.25.

   Feeder Bulls Medium and Large 1 Calves: few 495 lbs 131.00; pkg 750 lbs 112.00; Yearlings: pkg 800 lbs 124.00.
   Medium and Large 1 and 2: few 425 lbs 140.00; pkg 550 lbs fleshy 128.00.

   Feeder Heifers Medium and Large 1: few 425-475 lbs 150.00-153.00; 500-600 lbs 142.00-152.00; Yearling: 600-700 lbs 137.75-142.50; 700-775 lbs 131.50-136.00; 800-900 lbs 120.50-128.00; lot 950 lbs 117.50-120.75.
