We Have Hit Bottom in the Wheat Market- Kim Anderson Talks Wheat on SUNUP

Fri, 15 Jul 2016 05:10:40 CDT

We Have Hit Bottom in the Wheat Market- Kim Anderson Talks Wheat on SUNUP Oklahoma State University Extension Grain Marketing Specialist Dr. Kim Anderson says after the beat down in wheat and corn prices- he is semi optimistic about having some upside in the grain market. Anderson tells Lyndall Stout of SUNUP for the upcoming program that airs on OETA this weekend that he sees the chance of getting at least a small run higher in wheat prices. He says that what was once the floor for KC September wheat- $4.30 is now a resistance point over the current price- but he sees a move higher if that resistance point can be crossed.

Asked if we have seen the bottom in wheat prices this harvest season- Kim Anderson says "I do think they(meaning wheat prices) have bottomed out. I just can't see much coming down the pike to surprise us."

Click on the LISTEN BAR below to listen to the complete conversation between Stout and Anderson that will be seen on Saturday morning.

Beyond the Kim Anderson analysis of the wheat market- this week's SUNUP will be featuring Sergio Abit looking at Extensionís new wastewater demonstration site.

Then, Eric Rebek explains how bees and wasps impact agriculture.

Derrell Peel has advice for cow-calf producers as margins tighten.

In Cow-Calf Corner, Glenn Selk cautions use of harvested summer annual forage and looks at the importance of having it tested.

In the Mesonet Weather Report, Al Sutherland shows us the hit and miss nature of recent rain events and Gary McManus explains how Oklahoma could be nearing a flash drought.

Finally, we travel to Oklahoma County where two women with a family recipe are growing a business one bottle at a time.

SUNUP can be seen Saturday at 7:30 a.m. & Sunday at 6 a.m. on OETA-TV
