Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 9/26/2016

Receipts: 3,345    Week ago:    3,707    Year ago: 3,270


Compared to last week, steer and heifer calves and yearlings 3.00 to 6.00 lower, with exception of some weaned calves and yearlings with good weighing condition near steady. Demand and supply moderate. No support from the CME as the Live Cattle and Feeder Cattle futures traded on the negative side. The USDA Cattle On Feed report was in the range of most estimates with 101 percent On Feed, Placements at 115 percent and Marketing at 118 percent. Feeder supply included 47 percent Steers, 1 percent Holstein Steers, 39 percent Heifers, and 13 percent Bulls. Feeder Supply over 600 lbs was 36 percent.
