Oklahoma National Stockyards Reports Two to Five Dollar Higher Yearling Prices in Monday Auction

The weekly feeder and stocker cattle auction at the Oklahoma National Stockyards saw yearling prices jump two to five dollars higher, while stocker calf prices were mostly steady. Here is the official report from USDA on the Monday March 27, 2017 sale:

Closing Summary
Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers 2.00-5.00 higher. Steer and
heifer calves mostly steady on offerings. Quality average to attractive.
Demand remains good, specifically for heavy weight feeders that incur less feed
expense. Feed yards have become more optimistic since the beginning of the year
with the latest market conditions adding to their bottom lines. Feeder supply
included 62 percent Steers, 0 percent Holstein Steers, 37 percent Heifers, and
1 percent Bulls. Feeder Supply over 600 lbs was 72 percent.
