The Oklahoma Cattlemen's Association's (OCA) is currently seeking nominations for 'Cattleman of the Year'. Cattleman of the Year is the most prestigious award bestowed upon a member of the OCA.
"This award was developed in 1990 to recognize beef producers who have made significant contributions to the OCA and beef production," said Charlie Swanson, OCA President. "Cattleman of the Year award will be presented at the 65th Annual OCA Convention and Trade Show awards banquet on July 22, 2017 at the Embassy Suites in Norman, Okla."
Nomination forms can be found at www.okcattlemen.org. The deadline for nominations is May 1, 2017. Nominees must be an OCA member in good standing.
"It's always exciting to honor a fellow cattleman," Swanson said. "While ranching isn't the easiest job around; it's the chosen profession of many Oklahomans. Being a good steward of the land and caring for our cattle is honorable and important. And when cattlemen go the extra mile to serve in leadership positions and be involved within the industry, it confirms their passion for the industry."
