Governor Mary Fallin Honors Outstanding Oklahomans for Their Service to the Agriculture Industry

Governor Mary Fallin today presented four awards to exceptional agriculturalists in the State of Oklahoma including Virgil Jurgensmeyer of J&M Farms, Inc. form Miami, Okla. who was honored with the Governor's Outstanding Achievement in Agriculture Award- signifying his induction into the Oklahoma Ag Hall of Fame. Click here to listen to an interview with Jurgensmeyer's three sons that accepted the award on behalf of their father who could not attend today's event, with Associate Farm Director Carson Horn.
His company- JM Mushrooms- will produce and market 29 million pounds of mushrooms this year across the mid section of the US.
Anna Belle Weidemann of Canadian County was also among those recognized today, receiving the Governor's Outstanding Public Service in Agriculture Award.
Hal Clark from Cimarron County, received the Governor's Agriculture Environmental Stewardship Award.
And the Governor's Outstanding Legacy in Agriculture Award was presented posthumously to Floyd King of Hydro.
