Last Saturday, the Oklahoma Cattlemen's Association (OCA) honored Representative John Pfieffer and presented him with the 2017 OCA Legislative Appreciation Award. The award was presented during the recent OCA Convention and Trade Show.
"We are fortunate to have many friends in the Oklahoma legislature who know and value the importance of agriculture and specifically the beef cattle industry," said Weston Givens, OCA President. "We are so excited to honor one of our own lifetime members Oklahoma District 38 Representative John Pfeiffer from Orlando."
Representative Pfeiffer was raised in a beef cattle family. First elected in 2014, Representative Pfeiffer serves as chair of the House Appropriations subcommittee on Natural Resources and Regulatory Services as well as on the standing committees of Agriculture & Rural Development and Energy and Natural Resources. In the 2016 Legislative Session, authored and championed HB 2504 which more clearly defined the penalties for cattle theft including codifying the three times the value restitution in state law.
"Representative Pfeiffer is one of us and brings the character and integrity of the Oklahoma cattle rancher to the Legislature every day. We are truly thankful that he has stepped up to serve our great state in the Oklahoma House of Representatives," said Weston Givens.
