AUCTION
Receipts        5,189
Week Ago           6,423
Year Ago 6,949
    ***CLOSE***
Compared to last week, steer calves steady to 3.00 higher, heifer calves and yearlings 2.00 to 4.00 lower. Demand and supply moderate. Live Cattle and Feeder Cattle futures closed sharply lower to start the week, adding pressure to the feeder cattle trade. The grass is green, but forage prospects have Cattlemen concerned with what the summer will hold. Grass hay is ready to harvest but quantity will be lighter than normal. Feeder cattle supply included 43 percent Steers, 0 percent Dairy Steers, 45 percent Heifers, 0 percent Cows, and 12 percent Bulls. Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 42 percent.
