Ron Hays Talks with Robert York of National Livestock About the Upcoming Fundraiser for the All American Beef Battalion

Thu, 12 Dec 2019 14:34:06

Ron Hays Talks with Robert York of National Livestock About the Upcoming Fundraiser for the All American Beef Battalion The National Livestock Companies are pleased to announce their support, once again, for the All American Beef Battalion. On Monday, December 16th, the Oklahoma National Stockyards will auction a calf for the benefit of the All American Beef Battalion. The sale will take place at approximately 11:00 a.m. in the sale arena of the Stockyards.

Ahead of the sale- Radio Oklahoma Ag Network Farm Director Ron Hays talked with the CEO of National Livestock Credit Corporation, Robert York, about the fundraiser- you can hear their conversation by clicking on the LISTEN BAR at the bottom of this report.

The calf to be auctioned is again being donated by 3C Cattle Feeders and the Clyde Runyan family of Mill Creek, Oklahoma. A very special thanks go out to Clyde and Penny, along with their sons, who have donated the calf for 7 years. Clyde was with the 101st Airborne in Vietnam and considered this a privilege to be able to give back to the troops. Runyan passed away earlier in 2019- and his family wanted to continue the legacy of donating the calf in his honor.

This is the 9th year for the National Livestock companies to be involved in supporting the All American Beef Battalion. With the 2018 auction bringing in more than $49,000, contributors to this event have raised over $428,000 from the annual auction of a donated calf.

"Many organizations and individuals have joined together for this worthy cause each year. The efforts of many have made this successful and we thank all our partners and friends for their help. Through these auctions, approximately 42,800 troops have been fed an American ribeye steak upon their return home from deployment," stated Robert York, CEO of National Livestock Credit Corporation.

Anyone may support this effort by calling 800-310-0220 and speaking with Debbie Wedel. If you are unable to attend but would still like to support the cause, you can call Debbie for your proxy bid or you may also visit the All American Beef Battlion website and make your donation with PayPal. National Livestock will invoice bidders and contributors and will forward all funds to the All American Beef Battalion. All checks should be made payable to the All American Beef Battalion.

The All American Beef Battalion is comprised of a group of individuals involved in the United States Beef Cattle Industry who are working to support troops fighting the global war on terror. Part of their mission is to organize and sponsor steak feeds, entertainment, programs, meetings and projects with service members and their families while also fostering an appreciation and respect for our Armed Forces.
