Aj and Janet talk about the challenges ahead for rural healthcare in the state of Oklahoma, especially in light of the unfolding COVID-19 Pandemic. Today's Episode is sponsored in part by the Oklahoma Rural Water Association
Economics, availabilty of jobs, income, environment, food, and other factors can play a big role in rural healthcare. Pulliam also said where you live, can matter on the care you receive from general healthcare, to healthcare prevention work because there may not resources available, "We may not see providers that can provide those necessary screenings, the screening test may not be available, and if they have to travel into a metropolitan area, they are taking time away, there are travel expenses, and those types of things to get there. So those are some of the things we are actively working on trying to increase access to across the board."
