Thu, 24 Mar 2022 15:15:05 CDT
This week on Sunup, Crop Marketing specialist, Dr. Kim Anderson is talking about the much needed rain that fell across the state. Anderson said this rain will allow farmers to sleep at night, "They finally will probably have some commodities to sell. Now they'll need a follow up rain. It's good for the Wheat producer and then producers waiting to put that corn in the ground. It's going to give them some moisture toI plant corn, the grain sorghum, maybe soybeans, cotton a little later if we can get some more rain down in the southwest Oklahoma, but it's going to let them sleep." Anderson said as far as prices go The wheat price seems to be stabilizing, "We can go back to early February when prices were around $7.50. Before the war started, they got up to just above $8. After the war, they went from $8.00 to $11.50 and then they came back down to $9.00 and back up. They seem to be stabilizing right above $10 A bushel."
