At the 2023 Cattlemen’s Congress, Senior Farm and Ranch Broadcaster, Ron Hays, got the chance to catch up with Governor Kevin Stitt and talk about the exciting third year of Cattlemen’s Congress.

“This is the story that I tell, and kind of an example of a state like Oklahoma that believes in freedom versus Colorado, and when they shut their state down, we were very opportunistic and actually recruited this show to Oklahoma, and you are seeing the fruits of that play out year after year, so this show is here to stay,” Stitt said. “We have got tons of exhibitors and cattle folks from all over the country spending money here in the great state of Oklahoma.”

Cattlemen’s Congress, Stitt said, has a huge economic impact on central Oklahoma and promotes the agricultural community’s way of life.

“It is something we are proud of in Oklahoma, it is who I am, it is my roots, and so for me, it is really fun to be the governor and come hang out here with all of my friends from all over the country,” Stitt said.

Stitt said he believes Cattlemen’s Congress will become the largest cattle show in the country.

“We think this thing will be in Oklahoma City now for over 100 years,” Stitt said.

Stitt said Oklahoma City has been an excellent venue for hosting Cattlemen’s Congress.

“We gave money to the fairgrounds last year to upgrade their facility, so we are going to continue to invest to make sure that they stay here year after year,” Stitt said.
