The Limousin and Lim-Flex Pen Show ramps up Limousin activities at the 2023 Cattlemen’s Congress. The show took place on Tuesday, January 3, 2023. Mike Horrell evaluated the bulls.
Becky Craig Cattle Co exhibited the Grand Champion Pen of Limousin Bulls. The champion pen included February 2022 born bulls. They combined for an average weight of 675.33 pounds with an average weight per day of age of 2.13. All pen bulls were ultrasound scanned at check-in time. This champion pen had average actual scan data of 8.25 ribeye area, 2.86% IMF, and .13 back fat.
Becky Craig Cattle Co. won the People’s Choice Champion Limousin Pen award with her February 2022 born pen.
Lawrence Family Limousin exhibited the Grand Champion Pen of Lim-Flex Bulls. The May 2022 born pen had an average weight of 750 pounds with a 3.22 average weight per day of age. Their ultrasound scan data averaged 11.44 ribeye area, 3.75% IMF, and .21 back fat.
The Reserve Champion Pen of Lim-Flex Bulls was also exhibited by Lawrence Family Limousin. The September and October 2021 born pen had an average weight of 1603 pounds with a 3.43 average weight per day of age. Their average ultrasound scan data was 16.31 ribeye area, 3.55% IMF, and .27 back fat.
Bruce Lawrence won the People’s Choice Champion Lim-Flex Pen award with his September and October 2021 born pen.
