Congressman Frank Lucas (OK-03) released the following statement today after he was appointed to the House Committee on Agriculture Commodity Markets, Digital Assets, and Rural Development and Conservation, Research, and Biotechnology Subcommittees:
“I’m excited in the 118th Congress I’ll be serving on the House Agriculture Committee’s Commodity Markets, Digital Assets and Conservation Subcommittees. For as long as I’ve been in Congress, I’ve long been a champion of Oklahoma’s agriculture industry. Agriculture is vital to Oklahomans’ livelihood and the state’s economy, and I’m proud to once again give Oklahoma a voice on the Ag Committee,” said Congressman Frank Lucas (OK-03). “As the Committee works to deliver a bipartisan, comprehensive Farm Bill under the leadership of Chairman Thompson, I look forward to working with my colleagues, providing certainty to America’s farmers, producers, and families. From our continued support for conservation and research programs to playing a role in the shaping of a digital asset framework through the oversight of the CFTC, the House Ag Committee is geared for a productive 118th Congress.”
From 2011 to 2015, Lucas served as the Chairman of the House Committee on Agriculture, where he led the passage of the 2014 Farm Bill.
Earlier this Congress, Lucas was named to the House Financial Services Digital Assets, Financial Technology, and Inclusion Subcommittee, as well as the Subcommittee on Capital Markets.
Lucas was elected by the House Republican Conference to Chair the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology in the 118th Congress. Since his election in 1994, Lucas has been a Member of the House Committee on Financial Services, serving as the longest-serving Republican on the Committee.
