According to the Oklahoma Crop Progress and Condition Report released on March 27, 2023, winter wheat was rated 34 percent good to excellent, 34 percent fair and 32 percent poor to very poor. Last week’s conditions rated 29 percent good to excellent, 28 percent fair and 43 percent poor to very poor. Winter wheat jointing reached 26 percent, up 11 points from the previous year but down 7 points from normal.
Pasture and Range Conditions rated 14 percent good to excellent, 28 percent fair and 58 percent poor to very poor. Last week’s conditions rated 13 percent good to excellent, 27 percent fair and 60 percent poor to very poor.
Livestock conditions rated 39 percent good to excellent, 44 percent fair and 17 percent good to excellent. Last week’s conditions rated 39 percent good to excellent, 42 percent fair and 19 percent poor to very poor.
Winter wheat conditions rated 19 percent good to excellent, 29 percent fair and 55 percent poor to very poor. Last week’s conditions rated 23 percent good to excellent, 33 percent fair and 44 percent poor to very poor. Winter wheat jointed was 4 percent, near 1 percent last year and 1 percent for the five-year average.
Winter wheat conditions rated 18 percent good to excellent, 34 percent fair and 47 percent poor to very poor. Last week’s conditions rated 23 percent good to excellent, 33 percent fair and 44 percent poor to very poor. Winter wheat headed reached 25 percent, up 4 percentage points from last year and up 9 points from the average.
Corn planted reached 52 percent, up 2 percent from the previous year and up 7 percent from the average.
Sorghum planted reached 38 percent, even with the previous year and the average.
Range and Pasture conditions rated 10 percent good to excellent, 22 percent fair and 68 percent poor to very poor. Last week’s conditions rated 12 percent good to excellent, 27 percent fair and 61 percent poor to very poor.
