The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), the Oklahoma Tribal Conservation Advisory Council (OTCAC) and Farm Service Agency (FSA) will partner together for a free conservation workshop.

Join the agencies to discuss free technical assistance and conservation funding opportunities. You will also learn how producers can gather conservation data from Tribal Soil Climate Analysis Network (Tribal SCAN) to assist with their conservation decisions regarding livestock and crops, how to extract data on soil moisture and climate for livestock and crops, and how the removal of eastern red cedar benefits producers, monarch butterflies and pollinators. Agencies will also speak about “Managing Grazing Lands During a Drought” and give information regarding the NRCS Inflation Reduction Act (IRA).

Partners who will provide USDA program updates include NRCS, FSA, and the National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS). Conservation district partners from Choctaw, McCurtain, and Pushmataha counties will be available to provide updates regarding their state cost share programs.

NRCS assists producers with implementing conservation concerns and addressing resource concerns. FSA administers a wide variety of programs covering commodity crops, livestock, conservation, and disaster programs with varying degrees of requirements for participation. Landowners and operators are encouraged to utilize workshops and webinars to learn more about the 2018 Farm Bill Programs and to ask questions regarding USDA programs.
