OSU Experts available to discuss food safety during storm power outages

Oklahoma State University Extension experts are available for media interviews to answer questions about food spoilage and safety during an extended power outage.

Christi Evans is the family and consumer sciences educator for OSU Extension in Cleveland County. She can answer questions about how long food lasts in the refrigerator and freezer before it spoils and requires disposal.


Ravi Jadeja is an associate professor and food safety specialist in the OSU Department of Animal and Food Sciences and the Robert M. Kerr Food and Agricultural Products Center. His food microbiology research focuses on controlling foodborne pathogens in foods.
