NRCS Conservation Workshop in Okmulgee

The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), the Oklahoma Tribal Conservation Advisory Council (OTCAC) and Farm Service Agency (FSA) will partner together for a free conservation workshop on Tuesday, May 9, 2023.

Join the agencies to discuss free technical assistance and conservation funding opportunities. You will also learn how producers can gather conservation data from Tribal Soil Climate Analysis Network (Tribal SCAN) to assist with their conservation decisions regarding livestock and crops, how to extract data on soil moisture and climate for livestock and crops, and how the removal of eastern red cedar benefits producers, monarch butterflies and pollinators.

Information regarding five simple steps to apply for NRCS programs and conservation will also be shared.

Partners who will provide USDA program updates include NRCS, FSA, and the National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS). Conservation district partners from Mayes, Muskogee, Okmulgee, Rogers, Tulsa and Wagoner Counties will be available to provide updates regarding their state cost share programs.

When: Tuesday, May 9, 2023, 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Lunch will be provided.
