Sirloin Club Awards Braeton Kimble Livestock Production Agriculturalist Award for 2023 Agriculturalists Under 40

On May 9, at the 2023 Sirloin Gallery of Grands, the Sirloin Club of Oklahoma announced their five award winners for the 2023 agriculturalists under 40. The Sirloin Club of Oklahoma is a group of agriculture enthusiasts who gather each year to support Oklahoma’s 4-H and FFA students. The Sirloin Club supports exhibitors at the Oklahoma Youth Expo and Tulsa State Fair in their premium sales and also sponsors the National Land and Range Judging Contest.

Over the last few days, we have been showcasing the five award winners from five different categories: agricultural education, agricultural business, agricultural professional, crop production agriculturalist, and livestock production agriculturalist.

Today we conclude our award spotlights with Braeton Kimble, who received the 2023 Livestock Production Agriculturalist Award presented by the Sirloin Club of Oklahoma.

Braeton Kimble is the owner and operator of Kimble Livestock, and currently serves as a loan officer and assistant vice president of the Bank of Western Oklahoma in Weatherford.

Kimble grew up on a farm and ranch located in Hydro, where his family runs commercial cows, stocker cattle, and farms wheat pasture. Today, Kimble is a fourth-generation farmer and livestock producer in his family.

Growing up, Kimble spent his time outside of school helping his father and grandfather farm and tend to the cattle. Helping around the farm and learning to evaluate the calves is what sparked his passion for livestock and livestock judging. Kimble exhibited livestock while he was growing up and judged livestock at the collegiate level while managing to stay involved by helping kids from surrounding towns place and feed their projects.

Kimble stayed an extra year in Lubbock, Texas, to assistant coach their livestock judging team at Texas Tech University. After coaching, he came back home to the family farm and began Kimble Livestock. Currently, he raises show pics, feeds projects for junior exhibitors, and continues to run cattle and farm.
