In a bid to bolster the state’s blood reserves ahead of the Memorial Day weekend, the Oklahoma Pork Council, in partnership with the Oklahoma Blood Institute, will host a large-scale blood donation drive across various locations. From Thursday, May 23, to Friday, May 24, 2024, community members are invited to donate blood, and in return, they will receive a free pork sandwich, a “Bacon” shirt, and free admission to a select OKC attraction this summer. The drive aims to collect over 1,400 donations to support local medical facilities during the summer’s peak periods.
Further, on Thursday, May 23, a mobile center will be set up in Hinton to connect directly with two of our pork-producing communities during Oklahoma Pork’s annual drive.
