Cattlemen’s Association Annual Fundraising Banquet

The Okfuskee County Cattlemen’s Association (OCCA) hosted a record-breaking OCCA ANNUAL BANQUET on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 6 p.m. at the Okfuskee County Fairgrounds in Okemah.

This free event welcomed the Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association’s Vice President, Michael Kelsey, as a guest speaker, a live auction with Hunter Auction Service, and free Pepino’s enchiladas for all, generously donated by American Exchange Bank.

Mr. Michael Kelsey shared with attendees reports from the capital as well information on the Corporate Transparency Act and the effects on LLCs, partnerships, and trusts. He also discussed the required official Electronic ID of all cattle myths.

This 2024 Annual Banquet fundraising event raised TWICE the goal for youth scholarships, prizes, and awards for Okfuskee County. With nearly seventy philanthropists in attendance the auctioneers worked the room to bring the best price for each donation given by over twenty different donors from the region.

Please plan to join your Okfuskee County Cattlemen’s Association at their next free community event at the Okfuskee County Fairgrounds in Okemah on November 16, 2024, at 6:01 p.m. for their annual Chili Cook-Off. The OCCA is preparing for their Carcass Contest in the spring where these funds will be used for prizes for the eleven competitors. Prepare yourselves and your freezers this winter as OCCA will help auction off twenty-two sides of beef this year after having another record-breaking weigh-in at the County Fair for participants in the OCCA Carcass Contest.

To help sponsor the meal, provide desserts, door prizes, or to become a member of OCCA please contact Tom Goode at (940) 393-9815. As always, no membership is required to attend any OCCA meetings but it is highly encouraged.
