Expanding Pork’s Reach Through Strategic Partnerships   

Coborn’s, Inc., a central Minnesota retailer, has earned the 2024 FMI Gold Plate Award for their impactful #FamilyMealsMonth campaign in partnership with the Minnesota Pork Board and NPB! This collaboration highlighted the power of pork + plant recipes in 66 stores and featured ready-to-make meal kit displays, resulting in a 22% increase in pork sales and a 20% increase in tonnage year-over-year. 

This success story aligns closely with the NPB nutrition teams’ efforts to connect with health professionals and consumers through initiatives like the recent webinar Cultural Culinary Innovations. Hosted in partnership with Potatoes USA and the McCormick Science Institute, this webinar brought together more than 700 registrants. Just as Coborn’s showcased pork in the meatcase and digital spaces, our webinars leverage the expertise of dietitians and chefs to drive pork’s story in the nutrition and culinary world. 

Both efforts demonstrate the value of collaborating with industry partners to reach diverse audiences, from in-store shoppers to consumers seeking sustainable, culturally inspired meal ideas.
