Congressman Frank Lucas (OK-03) released the following statement after voting in favor of the American Relief Act.
“Extending government funding into early next year and the Farm Bill till September of 2025 allows Republicans and President-elect Trump to get to work on delivering results for the American people. Today’s vote provides economic assistance to American farmers and communities impacted by severe weather, extends the Farm Bill’s authorities, and keeps the government open.”
BACKGROUND:
The American Relief Act of 2025 passed the House 366-34-1. The measure:
- Extends government funding through March 14;
- Provides $100 billion in supplemental emergency spending to aid states affected by natural disasters;
- Provides $10 billion in economic assistance to farmers dealing with crop losses; and
- Extends current farm bill programs through September 30, 2025.
