Leader Munson sends condolences after passing of Neal McCaleb

House Democratic Leader Cyndi Munson, D-Oklahoma City, released the following statement of condolences after the passing of prominent Chickasaw politician Neal McCaleb at age 90.

“First and foremost, my thoughts are with Neal McCaleb’s wife, children, and grandchildren in the wake of this horrible loss. Neal McCaleb was an incredible public servant who advocated for his fellow Oklahomans, his fellow members of the Chickasaw Nation and all Native Americans and their interests. He was elected Oklahoma House Minority Leader in 1978, and while that was when the Republican Caucus made up the minority, I can still follow his lead of extraordinary public service in my current role as House Minority Leader for the Democratic Caucus. His service and hard work stand as an inspiration for us all and for those to come.”
