House Democratic Leader Cyndi Munson comments on statewide extreme winds, wildfires, evacuations

House Democratic Leader Cyndi Munson, D-Oklahoma City, issued the following statement regarding extreme winds, wildfires, and evacuation notices in Oklahoma.

“As we experience extreme winds and wildfires in Oklahoma, I urge everyone to listen to the professionals and evacuate when needed,” Leader Munson said. “I know this is a scary time right now, so let’s look out for each other. Check on your friends and family, pay attention to the news, and offer help if you can. Many people have already lost their homes or are in danger of losing their homes, and it is important we stay vigilant for ourselves and our fellow Oklahomans. As evacuation orders are issued, please do what you can to keep the roads clear for emergency vehicles and for those who are evacuating. Be considerate and don’t partake in any activities that could start a wildfire. Report any wildfires immediately by calling 911. Stay safe, stay smart, and stay considerate. I am thinking of and praying for Oklahomans who are having to evacuate, especially those who have already lost their home. During these times of fear and uncertainty, it is important to remember we are in this together and we will do whatever it takes as a state to help those who need it.”
