Leaders Praise EPA’s Proposed Repeal of Biden-Harris EPA Regulations for Power Plants, Which Would Spark Industry and Save Americans More than $1B

This week, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Lee Zeldin announced that EPA is proposing to repeal all “greenhouse gas” emissions standards for the power sector under Section 111 of the Clean Air Act (CAA) and amendments to the 2024 Mercury and Air Toxics Standards (MATS), which directly targeted American energy production and resulted in the shut-down of coal-fired power plants.

If finalized, these proposals would save over a billion dollars annually and deliver immediate savings to American families by unleashing American energy, securing our electric grid, and bolstering economic prosperity.

EPA remains committed to fulfilling its statutory obligations, providing clean air, land, and water to all communities across American while Powering the Great American Comeback.

Here’s what people across the U.S. are saying:

North Dakota Governor Kelly Armstrong: “This is what smart federal regulatory reform looks like. It’s refreshing to finally have a regulatory agency that takes input from the people who produce what the world needs – and allows them to do it better than anyone else while protecting the environment. We thank Administrator Zeldin and the Trump Administration for supporting common-sense regulation and unleashing U.S. energy production to hold down costs for consumers and strengthen national security.”

Montana Governor Greg Gianforte: “Finally pulling the plug on the failed Obama-Biden energy agenda. These rules would have shuttered Colstrip. Thank you, President Trump and EPA Administrator Zeldin, for taking swift action to protect Montana miners.”

Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon: “Today, I welcome the proposed repeal by the EPA of the so-called Clean Power Plan Version 2 that EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin and I have discussed over the past several months, and I encourage him to proceed with it with all due urgency. The lopsided and misguided policies of the Biden Administration have already wreaked enough havoc on our nation’s power supply and delayed our progress providing the beautiful clean coal President Donald Trump recognizes as essential to having a reliable, affordable and dispatchable energy supply for our nation.”

West Virginia Governor Patrick Morrisey: “Administrator Zeldin’s decision to withdraw the unlawful Greenhouse Gas Rule and the deeply flawed Mercury and Air Toxics Standards is a major victory for West Virginia, our energy producers, and every American who depends on reliable, affordable electricity… These rules were a direct assault on our coal communities, designed to force a rapid transition away from fossil fuels by imposing unworkable emissions standards on existing power plants. This action by Administrator Zeldin restores constitutional order and delivers long-overdue relief to states like West Virginia that have been unfairly targeted for years.”

Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt: “Oklahoma powers the nation by embracing an energy abundance agenda, getting government out of the way, and letting companies innovate. This move is just another crystal-clear example of the Trump Administration’s readiness to slash burdensome regulations and ensure American energy independence.”

Navajo Nation President Buu Nguyen: “Navajo Nation is the 3rd largest producer of coal and has been an energy leader for decades. The decision by Administrator Zeldin to repeal CPP 2.0 and MATS and support continued operations of coal-fired power plants re-establishes confidence within the Navajo Nation as it protects Navajo jobs and Navajo energy. The Trump Administration is helping to ensure that the Navajo Nation continues to be a leader in energy production, and we are excited to be a part of President Trump’s vision for American Energy Dominance.”

Senate Majority Whip John Barrasso (R-WY): “The Biden Administration’s outrageous climate rules would have shut down power plants and increased energy costs for families across the country. Repealing these rules will take the handcuffs off of Wyoming’s energy workers so they can unleash affordable, reliable American energy. Thanks to President Trump, the war on American energy is officially over.”

Senate Republican Conference Chairman Tom Cotton (R-AR): “Thank you, President Trump and Administrator Zeldin for ending the Biden Administration’s disastrous rule on power plant emissions. Arkansans shouldn’t have to pay higher energy bills just to satisfy some left-wing radical climate agenda.”

Senate Environment and Public Works Committee Chairwoman Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV): “Finally, under President Trump’s leadership, we are taking a necessary step towards ending the Clean Power Plan 2.0 once and for all, eliminating the threat this rule poses to our way of life in communities throughout America. I have long opposed this rule and warned of the devastating economic impacts it would have in West Virginia, and the energy reliability concerns it would create across our country. I’m thrilled that EPA Administrator Zeldin is reversing Biden-era regulations that would turn off affordable coal and natural gas energy generation and is prioritizing electric grid reliability and energy abundance.”

Senate Agriculture Chairman John Boozman (R-AR): “Prioritizing American energy dominance by rolling back costly and ineffective policies is a welcome, necessary change to support our electric grid, national security and more. I applaud Administrator Lee Zeldin’s leadership and look forward to continued efforts alongside U.S. Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works and the U.S. Senate Republican Conference.”

Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND): “In North Dakota, we mine lignite coal and produce very reliable, long-term, steady electricity at a low cost. I’ve always resented that somebody in this building, at EPA, thought they cared more about the air, land, water, and economy than I did and my family did. Thank you to President Trump and Administrator Zeldin for recognizing American greatness, for giving this opportunity to both highlight it and change the rules in a more common sense and reasonable way.”

Senator Steve Daines (R-MT): “By reversing these harmful Biden-era rules, President Trump has delivered on another promise to support Made-In-MT energy. This is HUGE news for Colstrip Power Plant and a win for our economy and energy security. Thank you, President Trump for putting Montana first instead of bowing to radical environmentalists.”

Senator Deb Fischer (R-NE): “The Biden-Harris Clean Power Plan 2.0 was just another example of how government overreach harms American Energy Production. Pleased to see EPA reverse this detrimental rule and return America to energy dominance.”

Senator Jon Husted (R-OH): “I support the EPA’s decision to cut Biden-era bureaucratic red tape for American coal and natural gas producers. We need power production to keep pace with growing demand, and reversing these out-of-touch regulations will help this mission. I’m grateful Administrator Zeldin is bringing common sense back to America’s energy agenda.”

Senator Jim Risch (R-ID): “Biden’s woke climate rule stifled energy production and drove up costs for American families. Administrator Zeldin is rolling back the red tape and powering American energy independence!”

Senator Cynthia Lummis (R-WY): “I’m pleased that President Trump and Administrator Zeldin are continuing to roll back unnecessary, expensive, and foolish Biden-era regulations. The Biden Administration spent four years waging war on Wyoming energy and trying to undermine our reliable baseload energy sources. President Trump is making good on his promise to protect America’s electrical grid and cut costs for energy consumers. This is a victory for Wyoming and all Americans who reject the left’s climate cult.”

House Committee on Energy and Commerce Chairman Brett Guthrie (R-KY-02): “I was proud to stand with Administrator Zeldin today as he announced these measures which are a victory for reliable and affordable energy. Enacted by the Biden-Harris Administration, these are just two of the burdensome rules that were part of a far-left regulatory agenda that jeopardized grid reliability and drove up prices for American families and businesses. Attempting to push baseload power sources, including coal, oil, and natural gas, offline puts our national security at risk and threatens the U.S. economy. By addressing these regulations, President Trump and his Administration are working to once again unleash American energy to secure our grid and help provide the power we will need to win the race for AI.”

Representative Troy Balderson (R-OH-12): “Under the leadership of President Trump and Administrator Lee Zeldin, the EPA is taking desperately needed action to end the disastrous ‘Green New Deal’ and restore common sense to the agency’s regulatory regime. From revising the ‘Waters of the United States’ rule to overhauling the Biden Administration’s most egregious regulations such as the electric vehicle mandate and ‘Clean Power Plan 2.0,’ the EPA is putting our country on the path to energy dominance and economic prosperity, all while ensuring America remains blessed with clean air and water.”

Representative Lauren Boebert (R-CO-04): “Fantastic news from my friend Lee Zeldin at EPA! I’ve fought hard to get these ridiculous Biden-era rules tossed in the garbage as they would raise electricity costs and hurt Coloradans from Weld to Baca Counties. It’s about time!”

Representative Dan Crenshaw (R-TX-02): “Energy demand is skyrocketing as we onshore manufacturing and compete with China on AI. Now more than ever, we need MORE reliable power — not less. Biden’s power plan regulations would force reliable and affordable energy offline, and scare off new investment. Amazing work by EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin to restore common sense to energy policy and ensure every American has access to power that’s affordable, reliable, and built for the future.”

Representative Julie Fedorchak (R-ND-AL): “These rules were crushing North Dakota’s energy and power industry and to the cause of reliable, affordable power in our country. That’s why one of my first actions in Congress was urging the repeal of these and 18 other Biden rules that drove up costs, weakened national security, and threatened the reliability of our grid. Under the Trump Administration, the EPA is charting a new course — one that supports the responsible development of the natural resources we’ve been blessed with for the good of the American people. I commend Administrator Zeldin for advancing a commonsense deregulation agenda and look forward to the full repeal of these rules — a big win for North Dakota energy and American manufacturing.”

Representative Morgan Griffith (R-VA-09): “Administrator Zeldin’s actions help kickstart the unraveling of the Obama-Biden-Harris ‘War on Coal’ and continue our drive to a return of American energy dominance. Affordable energy equals vibrant national economic health!”

Representative Dan Meuser (R-PA-09): “Repealing these Biden-era rules will help so many businesses continue to operate, expand, invest, and allow the United States to become truly energy dominant again.”

Representative Carol Miller (R-WV-01): “Thank you to Administrator Zeldin and President Trump for supporting American coal and bolstering our energy production!”

Representative Riley Moore (R-WV-02): “The Biden-Harris war on affordable, reliable American energy ends today. By reversing these job-killing regulations, President Trump and Administrator Zeldin make it clear: the Green New Scam is over and American energy dominance is back. These EPA regulations would have shuttered every coal-fired power plant in America, bankrupted many coal mines, laid off thousands of coal miners, and driven up the cost of electricity for every American. In a time when our nation’s adversaries are burning more coal than ever before, President Trump knows the only way to bring back jobs from overseas and fuel the Golden Age of America is by unleashing American energy, and today’s announcement once again confirms it’ll be coal-fired!”

Representative Mike Rulli (R-OH-06): “I stood alongside EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin as the agency announced the repeal of Biden’s overreaching ‘Clean Power Plan 2.0’ and harmful MATS regulations. These rules were never about clean energy — they were about shutting down American power. I’ll keep fighting for Ohio’s energy workers and standing up to policies that put politics before people. Proud to have a leader like Administrator Zeldin pushing for energy independence and common sense.”

Representative Adrian Smith (R-NE-03): “The Biden power plant rules were a step backward for American energy, undermined grid reliability, and threatened to inflate costs for Nebraskans who get about half our state’s electricity from coal. I was pleased when President Trump signed an executive order requiring EPA to reconsider these overreaching regulations earlier this year, and Administrator Zeldin is right to eliminate them. Putting a stranglehold on energy productivity was never the answer. Halting production at EPA’s red tape factory will restore American energy abundance.”

Representative Lloyd Smucker (R-PA-11): “Lee Zeldin is spot on in ending the Biden Administration’s ‘Clean Power Plan 2.0’ which posed SIGNIFICANT risks to our nation’s energy grid, particularly the PJM Interconnection which serves 65 million Americans including all Pennsylvanians.”

Kentucky Attorney General Russell Coleman: “The Biden Administration’s assault on Kentucky coal communities would have left us in the dark. Together with other AGs, we fought back. We’re grateful to President Trump, Administrator Zeldin and Kentucky’s own Representative Guthrie for flipping the switch and protecting reliable and affordable energy.”

West Virginia Attorney General J.B. McCuskey: “This proposed rule is a victory for West Virginians and traditional American energy. West Virginia has been fighting against these dangerous regulations for years, as liberals in Washington and elsewhere have looked to outsource our nation’s energy demands, cripple our industries, destroy our grid’s reliability, and endanger our nation. The Biden Administration’s regulations of coal- and natural-gas-fired power plants were perhaps the worst example of its full-scale assault on energy. That’s why we led a 25-State coalition in challenging them, too. We are ecstatic that the Trump Administration is now boldly repealing these destructive EPA regulations, to restore dependable electricity and put America’s energy future on a path to greatness. The Supreme Court already said — in West Virginia v. EPA — that EPA couldn’t reconfigure America’s energy system on its own. With this proposed rule, the Trump Administration has recognized that reality. And the Administration has shown once again that it will side with everyday Americans over misguided environmentalists and other special interests. The Mountain State stands ready to answer the call to meet our nation’s demands in this new era of American energy dominance. In the meantime, West Virginia commends President Trump and EPA Administrator Zeldin for restoring common-sense to America’s environmental regulations.”

Kentucky Senate President Robert Stivers: “A critical course correction is finally here. The Biden-Harris regulations, born from political fantasy which increased costs to the consumer, were unrealistic in the face of soaring energy demands, including those from AI. In Kentucky, we know energy policy isn’t just an environmental issue — it’s a kitchen table issue. Repealing these illogical mandates is a win for every family trying to pay their electric bill, every business owner managing costs, and every utility worker tasked with keeping our grid stable. Our country runs on reliability. Coal and gas remain essential to that equation, especially in Appalachia, which has been the backbone of America’s energy economy. Kentucky coal powered our nation through the Industrial Revolution, and today it stands ready to help power the digital and tech revolutions. I commend President Trump and the EPA for recognizing energy security and affordability must come before dangerous political posturing.”

Always On Energy Research Founder and Vice President Isaac Orr: “EPA’s deregulatory actions will save American families hundreds of billions of dollars in unnecessary costs and prevent the Biden rules from causing massive rolling blackouts in America’s heartland… We found that replacing the retiring coal, natural gas, and nuclear plants with wind, solar, and battery storage under the Biden regulations would cost the Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) region nearly $382 billion through 2055. Despite the massive costs, the grid would be unreliable, resulting in massive rolling blackouts during periods of low wind and solar output, causing billions of dollars in economic damages. Repealing the Biden Administration’s rules is a much-needed step toward energy sanity and a massive win for the American economy.”

America First Policy Institute Vice Chair for Energy and Environment Ambassador Carla Sands: “The prior power plant rule was a direct assault on the affordable, reliable electricity that underpins American life and prosperity. It was designed to weaken our energy infrastructure by imposing unachievable mandates on coal and natural gas plants. This effectively turns the EPA into an unelected, unaccountable grid manager. This reckless policy was a guaranteed path to skyrocketing electricity prices and a dangerously fragile grid. Hardworking American families are the least able to absorb such costs. The decision by the EPA Administrator to repeal this destructive regulation is a vital and courageous step toward restoring energy sanity.”

American Coal Council CEO Emily Arthun: “The American Coal Council applauds the Trump administration for its proposals to repeal the EPA’s power plant rule and mercury and air rule. This action is a critical step toward restoring regulatory balance, protecting affordable and reliable energy, and revitalizing America’s COAL industry.”

American Iron and Steel Institute President and CEO Kevin Dempsey: “GHG emissions from power plants in the U.S. do not significantly contribute to what is primarily a global problem. Emissions from U.S. power plants have significantly declined since 2005 and will continue to decline on their own for the foreseeable future. The onerous, costly and unproven mandate included in the current power plant rule would adversely impact the innovations that are already being implemented to reduce America’s carbon footprint. AISI applauds EPA for announcing this new approach, which is significant to the American steel industry as we depend on an affordable and reliable electricity supply. As such, we favor innovative, market-driven approaches and not heavy-handed federal requirements on the power sector that could negatively affect not only our industry but grid reliability overall.”

American Petroleum Institute Senior Vice President of Policy, Economics and Regulatory Affairs Dustin Meyer: “We applaud EPA Administrator Zeldin for taking decisive action to ensure the American people have access to affordable and reliable energy. Our demand for electricity is only growing, and we will continue working with the administration on policies that keep the lights on for the American people.”

America’s Power President and CEO Michelle Bloodworth: “America’s Power commends Administrator Zeldin and the EPA for proposing to repeal the Carbon Rule and the 2024 MATS rule. These rules would have shut down the nation’s fleet of coal power plants despite warnings from experts and officials that more than half of the U.S. is at risk of electricity shortages. While it is clear the U.S. needs to build more new electricity sources, it is even more critical to stop the retirement of existing power plants. This bold step will make our nation’s electricity system more reliable and electricity prices more affordable and will enable the U.S.to be more competitive in global markets.”

Arizona Free Enterprise Club President and Executive Director Scott Mussi: “Another tremendous decision from the White House for the future of power plants around the country! President Donald Trump and Administrator Lee Zeldin continue to take action after action to release the full power and potential of American energy, ensuring freedom and prosperity for years to come.”

U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Global Energy Institute President Marty Durbin: “The U.S. Chamber supports terminating the unworkable Clean Power Plan 2.0. While we are reviewing the full proposal, the voiding of the prior rule would remove a barrier to producing the electricity generation needed to maintain our domestic energy security and our competitive edge in critical fields like artificial intelligence. The EPA’s prior rule, which was built on unrealistic expectations, would have forced the country to compete with one hand tied behind its back. If freed from Clean Power Plan 2.0, America’s power producers would be able to focus on meeting the nation’s surging electricity demand with affordable rates and lower emissions.”

Colorado Springs Utilities CEO Travas Deal: “As a community-owned electric utility, Colorado Springs Utilities is responsible for delivering electric power to the people of the Pikes Peak Region, including critical military installations that call our region home: Fort Carson, the United States Air Force Academy, and Peterson Space Force Base – home to U.S. Northern Command and the headquarters of the U.S. Space Command. Electric power security is national security, and today’s announcement highlights just how important it is for our nation to maintain abundant, affordable, and reliable electric power. The continued successful operation of America’s power plants powers the American economy to win today and positions us as the leader in artificial intelligence in the future.”

Competitive Enterprise Institute’s Center for Energy and Environment Director Daren Bakst: “The Biden EPA’s greenhouse gas regulation for power plants is an attack on electricity reliability and affordability. As with Obama’s Clean Power Plan struck down by the U.S. Supreme Court, the Biden Administration rule would unlawfully make the EPA the nation’s grid manager. The rule would kill off reliable sources of electricity like coal and natural gas and centrally plan a shift to unreliable sources of electricity like wind and solar. The Biden Administration apparently thought Americans would be fine with expensive energy and blackouts and brownouts, showing how out of touch the Biden EPA was with the American people and common sense. Higher electricity prices will devastate Americans, especially low-income Americans. But such serious concerns get ignored when the far left pushes its extreme climate agenda, and that’s what happened with the Biden EPA’s greenhouse gas power plant rule. I commend EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin and the Trump Administration for taking much-needed action that puts the well-being of Americans over the interests of the extreme climate agenda.”

Competitive Enterprise Institute Senior Fellow Marlo Lewis: “The Biden EPA’s May 2024 greenhouse gas (GHG) emission standards rule for fossil-fuel powerplants is an unlawful assault on affordable energy and grid reliability. The rule’s 90 percent carbon capture and storage (CCS) requirement for existing baseload coal power plants is projected to decrease US coal generation by 89 percent below baseline projections by 2045. The rule’s 90-percent CCS requirement for new baseload natural gas combined cycle powerplants will effectively preclude construction of new natural gas baseload generation. Far from being an ‘adequately demonstrated’ ‘best system of emission reduction’ for gas generation, no utility scale natural gas CCS plant exists today… In addition to making US electric power more costly and less reliable, the Biden EPA’s May 2024 GHG standards rule defies West Virginia v. EPA, the Supreme Court ruling that vacated the Obama EPA’s so-called Clean Power Plan (CPP). Whether coal and gas powerplants should be forced out of the nation’s electricity supply system is undeniably a major question of national policy… Instead of heeding the Court, the Biden EPA proposed and finalized a CPP on steroids. CEI commends EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin and the Trump Administration for taking decisive action to restore economic liberty, common sense regulation, and the rule of law to the electric power sector.”

Heritage Foundation’s Center for Energy, Climate, and Environment Director Diana Furchtgott-Roth: “President Donald Trump’s latest move to repeal the Biden Administration’s power plant regulations marks a pivotal moment in America’s energy policy. If finalized, this proposal would not only lower electricity costs for millions of Americans but also strengthen domestic manufacturing and reduce the risk of blackouts. The new regulation, with its companion regulation to revert to 2012 standards for mercury emissions, are a bold step toward restoring energy affordability and reliability, pillars of economic growth and national security.”

Independent Women’s Forum Center for Energy and Conservation Director Gabriella Hoffman: “Administrator Lee Zeldin announces at EPA headquarters the repeal of two Biden-era rules — including Clean Power Plan 2.0 that would phase out existing coal and new natural gas power plants. Coal and natural gas supply 60% of US electricity generation.”

National Association of Manufacturers President and CEO Jay Timmons: “The EPA’s decision to repeal the unworkable power plant rule for existing coal-fired and new natural gas-fired power plants is a critical and welcome step toward rebalanced regulations and American energy dominance. This change will strengthen grid reliability and support manufacturing growth in the United States.”

National Mining Association President and CEO Rich Nolan: “We applaud the Trump Administration’s work to counter the Biden Administration’s direct assault on coal power and address both the nation’s teetering grid reliability and electricity affordability. The Biden EPA released a full suite of rules designed to make it impossible for coal plants to continue operations – and did so at a time when this country’s soaring electricity needs require every megawatt of coal power that’s currently available. Today’s announcement nullifies two of EPA’s most consequential air rules, removing deliberately unattainable standards and leveling the playing field for reliable power sources, instead of stacking the deck against them.”

National Rural Electric Cooperative Association CEO Jim Matheson: “These Biden-era EPA power sector rules are unlawful, unrealistic and unachievable. And they will jeopardize the reliability of the electric grid for as long as they remain in effect. Today’s announcements are a welcome course correction that will help electric co-ops reliably meet skyrocketing energy needs and keep the lights on at a cost local families and businesses can afford. These rules force power plants into premature retirement and handcuff how often new natural gas plants can run. Both of them are textbook examples of a bad energy policy that compounds today’s reliability challenges. We deeply appreciate the Trump Administration’s recognition that these rules are unlawful, threaten American families and businesses and should be swiftly repealed.”

Pacific Legal Foundation Environment and Natural Resources Litigation Director Mark Miller: “Pacific Legal Foundation applauds the EPA’s proposal to repeal unlawful greenhouse gas regulations imposed under the Obama and Biden Administrations. These rules were textbook examples of regulatory overreach — transforming the Clean Air Act from a pollution-control law into a federal energy-planning tool without congressional authorization… This proposed repeal is a welcome step toward restoring the proper balance of power in environmental law. It furthers constitutional separation of powers, curtails unaccountable bureaucratic governance, and ensures that vital energy infrastructure can remain viable — especially for the communities and industries that rely on it most.”

Pennsylvania Coal Alliance Executive Director Rachel Gleason: “The Pennsylvania Coal Alliance (PCA) and its members applaud the Trump Administration’s move today to repeal regulations designed to destroy fossil fuel electricity generating power plants. We are in the midst of a national energy crisis, and these regulations have wrongfully targeted America’s most fuel-secure, reliable and resilient energy source – coal. The United States Environmental Protection Agency’s proposal will repeal regulations that set unachievable emission standards, force generation shifting, and mandate power plants to install unproven technology that has not been adequately demonstrated… Today’s announcement represents a return to rational energy policy and hopefully a reverse of these irresponsible trends while continuing to support the coal industry and the billions in economic impact it brings to our Commonwealth.”

Power America Director Ted Ellis: “The EPA’s proposal to repeal the previous administration’s power plant rule marks a necessary return to energy policy grounded in reality and America First priorities. The previous rule was a blatant attempt to force the premature shutdown of our essential coal fleet and to block the construction of new, efficient natural gas plants. It did this by mandating so-called ‘solutions’ like 90% carbon capture and storage – a technology that remains unproven at scale and economically unviable, with precisely zero power plants achieving this standard today. This repeal is essential for ensuring America has abundant, affordable, and reliable electricity, free from ideologically driven mandates that ignore science, economics, and the rule of law.”

Steel Manufacturers Association President Philip K. Bell: “We support the Trump Administration’s repeal of the Biden-era power plant carbon dioxide rule. Doing away with this misguided rule will guarantee more affordable, more plentiful electricity for American families and domestic manufacturing. Nearly three-quarters of the steel made in America each year is produced in modern, efficient electric arc furnaces. Those electric furnaces require a robust, reliable power grid. Last year, the Biden Administration rushed to finalize an emissions standard for power plants that threatened reliability of the grid and would have led to the removal of significant power generation from the national energy mix. At a time when the Trump Administration is working to turn America into a manufacturing powerhouse, we need more kilowatts on the grid, not fewer. Over the last seven years, our members have invested over $20 billion to build and upgrade steelmaking capacity. The investments require additional power from an already strained grid. EPA’s bold move today will help ensure grid reliability and power manufacturing’s growth. We applaud the EPA and look forward to working with them further to ensure that regulations continue to be protection of health and our economy.”

West Virginia Coal Association President Chris Hamilton: “We applaud the efforts of the Trump Administration to protect the nation’s electric supply and West Virginia’s coal industry… The repeal of these rules will result in a stronger, more reliable American energy grid. Today’s actions by Administrator Zeldin ensure that West Virginia’s coal industry will continue its tradition of powering this great country and we look forward to working with Governor Morrisey and the Legislature to implement President Trump’s coal energy agenda.”
