Oklahoma Wheat Growers Hosting Their 2025 Annual Meeting in Okeene

The 2025 Annual Meeting of the Oklahoma Wheat Growers Association is set for the Corner Event Center in Okeene on Tuesday, July 8th. OWGA members and anyone engaged in wheat production in Oklahoma are encouraged to attend.

Early arrivers can tour Mountain Country Foods at 10:30 AM. The plant in Okeene produces biscuits and soft kibble for pets- Mountain Country Foods is one of the largest pet treat producers in the US.

Registration, lunch and the program are all happening at The Corner in Okeene at 101 N Main Street. The complete agenda is available here.

The OWGA will offer a Legislative review of this past year’s Legislative Session. Presenting will be State Representative Mike Dobrinski (R-Okeene) as well as OWGA CEO Jeff Hickman, Lori Peterson and Jami Longacre.

Several members of the OSU Wheat Improvement Team will be on the program on Tuesday afternoon- including a session on OSU Yield Plot Data with Dr. Brett Carver, OSU Regents Plant & Soil Sciences Professor and Wheat Genetics Chair
as well as Dr. Amanda Silva, OSU Plant & Soil Sciences Assistant Professor & Small Grains Specialist

After short break- wheat producers will hear the latest about 2025 Challenges in the Field with Dr. Meriem Aoun, OSU Entomology & Plant Pathology and Assistant Professor & Small Grains Pathologist as well as from Dr. Liberty Galvin, OSU Plant & Soil Sciences Asst. Prof. of Weed Science & Precision Management
