Agriculture leader Chelsea Good has launched Good & Associates, a new firm specializing in issues management, government affairs, strategic communications, and industry relations for the agriculture sector.
Good brings more than a dozen years of experience as Vice President of Government and Industry Affairs and Legal at the Livestock Marketing Association (LMA), where she served as a key voice for livestock auction markets and the cattle industry. She will continue to serve LMA as a client of the new firm.
“Two things I love are agriculture and helping others achieve results,” Good said. “I’m excited for the opportunity to support a broader range of ag businesses and organizations as they tackle challenges, influence policy, strengthen relationships, and make a lasting impact.”
With experience in federal and state policy, industry coalition building, law, and association leadership, Good brings a broad skill set to the new firm. In addition to her work at LMA, she previously served at the Kansas Department of Agriculture as Staff Attorney and Communications Director.
Good is chairperson of the National Institute of Animal Agriculture and serves on the boards of the American Agricultural Law Association, Kansas Agriculture and Rural Leadership, the Agricultural Business Council of Kansas City, and the United States Animal Health Association. She is past chairperson of the Ranchland Trust of Kansas.
She holds a J.D. from Washburn University School of Law, a Master’s in Communication Studies, and three bachelor’s degrees — in Agricultural Communications and Journalism, Political Science, and Public Relations — all from Kansas State University.
Good & Associates will offer services including:
- Issues and crisis management
- Government affairs and policy development
- Industry and stakeholder relations
- Strategic communications
- Legal, governance, and business advisory support
The firm is based in Leawood, Kansas, and serves clients throughout the United States.
To best serve clients, Good has strategic alliances with a variety of collaborators, including her husband Chad Tenpenny with Tenpenny Law.
