Two Missouri Corn grower-leaders were elected to the newly renamed U.S. Grains & BioProducts Council (USGBC) board of directors during the 65th annual delegates meeting in Grand Rapids, Mich., Aug. 1. Former Missouri Corn Growers Association (MCGA) President Jay Fischer of Jefferson City was elected secretary-treasurer while Missouri Corn Merchandising Council (MCMC) Vice Chairman Dylan Rosier of Mound City was named an at-large director.
“The U.S. Grains & BioProducts Council is a crucial partner to Missouri corn farmers, putting boots on the ground in countries around the world to help increase market access for corn, ethanol, and corn co-products,” notes Missouri Corn CEO Bradley Schad. “Both Jay and Dylan have been staunch supporters of the Council’s mission, and we’re proud to see their efforts to further open markets continue through their service to growers nationwide.”
Fischer began his service to the Council board of directors in 2021, volunteering his time as an at-large director. Most recently, he has served as corn sector director, helping guide the organization’s efforts to increase exports of U.S. corn and corn co-products. He has been a member of the Missouri Corn board of directors since 2009, currently serving in an ex-officio position. During his tenure, Fischer has also held the roles of MCGA vice president and secretary/treasurer, as well as Missouri Corn Merchandising Council (MCMC) secretary and vice-chairman.
Prior to his election, Rosier served on the USGBC Middle East/Africa/South Asia A-Team, and most recently as the team lead for the Western Hemisphere A-Team. He has been a member of the Missouri Corn board of directors since 2017. In addition to serving as MCMC vice chairman, Rosier has held the roles of secretary and treasurer. He has also served the state’s growers as Missouri Corn Growers Association (MCGA) secretary/treasurer.
A longtime partner in progress, MCMC works with the USGBC to expand marketing opportunities for corn, ethanol, and corn co-products abroad. Approximately 20% of the U.S. corn crop is exported annually, including corn and value-added products such as ethanol and distillers dried grains.
