National FFA Foundation recognized as Indianapolis Business Journal’s Foundation of the Year

The National FFA Foundation has been recognized as Indianapolis Business Journal’s inaugural Foundation of the Year for 2025. The Foundation was recognized with other IBJ Nonprofit award-winners on Tuesday, August 5, at the inaugural Nonprofit Excellence Awards.

“We are honored to have been selected as the IBJ’s Foundation of the Year,” said Molly Ball, National FFA Foundation President. “The Foundation plays a unique and vital role in building the pipeline of skilled workers and leaders in the agriculture, food and natural resource industries. The National FFA Foundation exemplifies what it means to lead with purpose, invest with vision and impact lives – right here in Indiana.”

Headquartered in Indianapolis, the National FFA Foundation stands as a powerhouse of impact. Known for its national reach but deeply rooted in Indiana, the FFA Foundation has a legacy of service that spans eight decades. The Foundation’s influence on American education, workforce development and agriculture is unmatched.

In 2024, the Foundation helped power an extraordinary milestone, resulting in 1,027,273 student members in the National FFA Organization, representing a nearly 21% increase since 2022. This record-breaking year of growth reflects both demand and trust – demand for agricultural education and leadership opportunities, and trust in the Foundation’s ability to steward resources and deliver meaningful results.

The Foundation has also dramatically increased its fundraising capacity while maintaining operational excellence. Between 2022 and 2024, revenue grew from $17.9 million to $24 million – a 34.6% increase- all while keeping its cost per dollar raised at just $0.18, far outperforming national nonprofit benchmarks. In 2024, the Foundation also successfully completed its $100 million comprehensive campaign, a transformative milestone in nonprofit fundraising, led in the heart of the Hoosier state.

Contributions to the National FFA Foundation secure resources for the future of agricultural education and the National FFA Organization. The National FFA Organization is a school-based national youth leadership development organization of more than a million student members as part of 9,235 local FFA chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
