Nominations Now Being Accepted for 46th Oklahoma Governor’s Arts Awards

Every day across Oklahoma, countless individuals and organizations dedicate themselves to the arts and are making a difference in their communities and schools. From faithful volunteers to seasoned leaders, long-time classroom teachers to determined advocates, these champions for the arts deserve recognition for their outstanding efforts.

Since 1975, the Oklahoma Governor’s Arts Awards has been the premier event for honoring those whose dedication has impacted the arts in our state. Through Wednesday, October 15, the Oklahoma Arts Council is accepting nominations for the 46th Oklahoma Governor’s Arts Awards.

Presented every two years by the Governor of Oklahoma and the Oklahoma Arts Council during a special ceremony at the state Capitol, awards recognize honorees in several categories. Hundreds of Oklahomans have been awarded the Governor’s Arts Awards gold medallion bearing the image of Allan Houser’s Capitol sculpture As Long As the Waters Flow since they were introduced decades ago. Submit a nomination today for the chance to bring this meaningful recognition to a deserving person or organization in your community.
