The deadline to submit nominations for the 46th Oklahoma Governor’s Arts Awards is October 15. The Oklahoma Arts Council invites Oklahomans from across the state to help bring recognition to the people and organizations doing outstanding work in the arts in communities.
From faithful volunteers to seasoned leaders, long-time classroom teachers to determined advocates, there are champions for the arts in every corner of Oklahoma who deserve our gratitude for their dedicated efforts.
Since 1975, the Oklahoma Governor’s Arts Awards has been the premier event for honoring those who have impacted the arts in our state. Presented every two years by the Governor of Oklahoma and the Oklahoma Arts Council during a special ceremony at the state Capitol, awards recognize honorees in several categories. Hundreds of Oklahomans have been awarded the Governor’s Arts Awards gold medallion bearing the image of Allan Houser’s Capitol sculpture As Long As the Waters Flow since they were introduced decades ago. Submit a nomination today for the chance to bring this meaningful recognition to a deserving person or organization in your community.
