The America First Policy Institute (AFPI) has released a new research report detailing China’s systematic capture of key sectors of the U.S. agricultural economy, posing serious threats to national security, food supply chains, and economic prosperity.

The report provides exclusive research on how once-American companies, such as Smithfield and Syngenta, have been acquired or are effectively controlled by Chinese state-owned enterprises.

AFPI experts Ambassador Kip Tom & Royce Hood discussed the findings of this report with the media. The topics covered included national security threats, the vulnerability of key food supply chains, economic warfare, IP theft and data security, and multimillion-dollar lobbying efforts on behalf of foreign principals.

Congressman John Moolenaar, Chairman of the House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party, shared his thoughts on AFPI’s newly released report:

“[The Chinese Communist Party] is engaged in economic aggression against the United States, and we must protect our farms, our feed mills, processing plants, and slaughterhouses. The CCP strategy is twofold: undermine U.S. food security while siege-proofing their own.”
