
Boxed beef prices declined for the third straight day on Friday. The Choice cutout fell $2.84 to $370.73/cwt and Select slipped $0.79 to $354.24/cwt, narrowing the spread to $16.49. Since last Friday, the Choice cutout is down $5.67, marking the lowest close since October 22 and the weakest in the last 18 sessions. Load volume totaled 128.
Compared to Thursday, the rib increased $2.55 to $634.84. The chuck fell $5.06 to $295.87, and the round dropped $4.12 to $306.17. The loin declined $4.61 to $480.10. Brisket rose $1.75 to $326.32, the plate was nearly flat at $247.93 (+$0.27), and the flank gained $4.89 to $195.74.
