Yesterday, U.S. Senator Markwayne Mullin (R-OK), a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, voted YES on the Fiscal Year 2026 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). Within the legislation, Senator Mullin advocated for Oklahoma’s premier military bases and helped secure an abundance of wins for the state’s installations—totaling $670.3 million dollars for the Sooner State.
“It’s an honor and a privilege to represent Oklahoma and the many world-class military installations we have in our state. While serving on the Senate Armed Services Committee, I’m grateful to be able to fight for our bases and the future of Oklahoma’s defense capabilities. Oklahoma is vital to maintaining our military’s readiness and lethality,” said Senator Mullin. “The NDAA is a monumental step towards reforming the Pentagon and ensuring our servicemembers have the technology and weapons they need to face tomorrow’s challenges head-on. I’m proud the Senate pushed it across the finish line.”
The FY26 NDAA is not just full of wins for our military, it’s also full of wins for Oklahoma. Tinker Air Force Base will be authorized $497,000,000 for acquiring property and base construction and has extended FY23 authorized projects by $30,000,000. The Senate has also authorized funding for hangar construction, a childhood development center, and a squadron operations center at Tinker, totaling $79,000,000.
McAlester Army Ammunition Plant will also be authorized $55,000,000 for the ammunition demolition shop.
