
The American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) has released its 2026 schedule of conferences, professional development opportunities and online education courses. Registration is already open for several of these events, such as the International Feed Expo, Pet Food Conference and Purchasing and Ingredient Suppliers Conference, at afia.org/events.
“The AFIA is excited to begin 2026 with a strong slate of industry-leading events designed to deliver high-value education, meaningful networking and impactful professional development for animal food industry professionals,” said Victoria Broehm, AFIA’s vice president of member experience. “These events reflect AFIA’s continued commitment to providing engagement and educational opportunities that support and advance the animal food industry.”
The event schedule is as follows:
Jan. 27-29: International Feed Expo at the International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE) – Atlanta, Ga.
Jan. 27: Pet Food Conference at IPPE – Atlanta, Ga.
Jan. 28: AFIA Feed Education Program at IPPE – Atlanta, Ga.
Jan. 28: U.S. Government Agencies & APHIS Export Health Certificate Training at IPPE – Atlanta, Ga.
Jan. 28: New Understanding About “Old” Ingredients at IPPE – Atlanta, Ga.
March 9-11: Purchasing and Ingredient Suppliers Conference – Fort Worth, Texas
June 15-18: Feed Industry Institute – Minneapolis, Minn.
July: Food Safety Modernization Act Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) Training – Nashville, Tenn. (dates to be announced soon)
Sept. 9-11: Liquid Feed Symposium – Kansas City, Mo.
Nov. 4-6: Equipment Manufacturers Conference – Rio Grande, Puerto Rico
Early-bird registration rates for IPPE and the associated IPPE education programs end this Friday, Jan. 9.
The AFIA will continue its partnership with Kansas State University to offer a five-week, online course, “AFIA-KSU 500: Fundamentals of Feed Manufacturing.” The course will be offered quarterly:

The AFIA will also continue to offer the online course, “AFIA 600: Designing, Implementing and Documenting an Animal Food Safety Plan.” This program is a self-guided, online professional development course tailored for industry professionals seeking to deepen their understanding of animal food safety standards, regulations and the Safe Feed/Safe Food (SF/SF) certification program. The course will be offered in spring and fall 2026, with dates to be announced soon.
